Tibetan Chi Kung

History: Tibetan Chi Kung or Qigong differs from Chinese Qigong in several ways.

Tibetan Chi Kung was begun by ancient societies high in the mountains of Tibet. The practice is intended to develop flow and sensitivity to energy. Concentrate on how to circulate chi to clear blockages through exercises and breathing practices. The focus is on clearing the ego and the fear from your energy system.

Tibetan Chi Kung: In chi kung we focus on the three dan tiens. The lower dan tien is located 2 inches below the navel. This point is considered the original point of entry. The second point is in the heart to harmonize and clear. The third is in the third eye or window in the sky. It is located in the brow area.

When we bring the energy in it is love and the soul that is helping open things up. If we are not open or connected we cannot harness the energy. When we become aware the lower center begins to bring and draw the chi through. At this point when drawn to the second center it is magnified. It helps open and flow out through the body in balance and in the way of harmony. When the heart is blocked it is disruptive and out of alignment with the rest of the system. When we are in fear the heart is hardened and not open.

We begin to feel the love coming in and going out. Our heart is getting energy from the lower dan tien. It is harmonized because it feels the flow of energy of the universe and the partner soul. It is being fed and in return feeding the other soul. The love is always there. It is not created by the dan tien. The dan tien opens and allows what was already forming. It needed the energy to make the full connection. When that activates it makes us aware of other pieces of the process. When we get in the head we have all sort of stories we tell ourselves that have nothing to do with what is going on. We are stronger at hiding behind the mask of what we sense and feel. When we begin to listen to the body and soul we become aware of what is already taken place. This is also part of the healing that takes place by bringing real love rather than the fear and illusion experiences that were not part of what the soul identifies as love. The body knows love as an energy only at a body level. What the soul is creating and with what energies that it is connected to are known through the body and soul.

Open and you will feel the flow of love. When that happens all the karma that was previously being experience is being washed away. We just have to allow and open. When we open up in meditation or love transmission we must allow ourselves to let go. Sometimes people get focus on the hurt rather than receiving the love and healing. It is contrary of what they have permitted. So they keep hurting themselves and the pain and sorrow rather than embracing the love. The love in the beginning is the thing causing the pain in the first place. This is a indication of the blockage. It is strong and will take time and practice to open to the real desire of love and healing. For each person it is different. It is to clear the karma and the root energies of the karma. Thus Tibetan chi kung does not focus on just energy stagnation. It's focus is to clear and empty out the spiritual karma at its root.

Love and healing is the only purpose. Sometime we just do not fully realize it and allow it. Some of it we are more aware of than at other times. It is an energy response. Even if we do not feel it at times, it is still going on.

There are energies at work that go far beyond the class. They are always there even in a simple chi kung class. There is a saying, "nothing is at it seems". There are no ordinary moments. Just moments that people view as ordinary. In the steps of giants we do not notice the imprint we make or are being made for us by a greater part of us.

The real love always says, "yes". The mind and fear always says, "no". Eventually love wins and the flow of love says, "yes!". We begin to say and encourage the flow of love by saying, "yes". That is when we know we are opening to the flow. Yes, Yes, Yes! It is all there.

We as spirits can do no less than follow the flow. I know my intention when I follow the flow and become the We. That means all the masks I know I wear go away fully. To be naked and open to the flow of love. That is all of our intention. To find the flow of love whether it is with a partner or face to face with the source to open and be naked and exposed and to let go. That is our purpose when we open to the love we do that. So that is the purpose, the divine intent. It will happen and the flow is moving towards that. The more we are aware and encourage the easier that will happen.

When we harmonize the external with the internal then the flow of love can fully be embraced. The healer and divinity within can fully be present. It is the love flow that will let it happen. Explore and ask questions and feel it out. Sense and let go of the conflict in the head. Let the questions be, explore that which is coming from the seeker rather than the one who judges. Ask and explore your real self. It is one asking questions on a energy level anyway. Listen and explore. Be that which you truly are. Embrace the real you.

For some, because of the resistance, their whole system needs to be shaken up. No matter what, that is what first needs to happen so they stop resisting and start listening. That is going to take some time for some they have taught themselves not to listen. Now they must learn to listen, not to the stories or patterns but deep inside. That part that is asking, "What are you doing talking so much about your drama! Do you mind if we get some movement. I mean we been sitting here all this time and we could of gotten something done. Do you mind!"

When we listen rather than trying to explain and defend we are listening to the love and flow.

When we allow the power that comes from the soul to reach the heart, the power of love flows through and enters us and we receive and we give and give and receive. We keep asking for more. I must give to myself and to you because of love. Especially to the one the heart is connected to. It would not be love if I stop giving and receiving. I strip myself down naked for that and more. It is what we all do when we are aware and ready.

The real dance is about to begin. Some of you are already there. For the others this is a time to pick up and put on your dancing shoes; this is a dance you were meant to dance. Good luck

Open to love and it will be easier.

Health benefits: Tibetan Chi Kung, like Chinese Chi Kung, has partnered and solitary exercises to clear blockages in the body, and improve kidney, lung, liver, spleen and heart health. It also aids correct posture, releases tension in the muscles and ligaments, and helps in the prevention of disease and sickness. Energy blockages can be caused by stress placed on the body, for example; overwork, excessive drinking, smoking, drug usage, or emotional or physical trauma.

Can it help me?

Tibetan Chi Kung has more mystical aspects than Chinese Qi Gong, and is practiced not only for health, but for spiritual purposes. This type of Chi Kung does not arise from Tibetan Buddhism, as one might expect, but from an older, nature-based religion. In Tibet, when Chi Kung is practiced, visualization of a positive universal force is encouraged, and certain aspects of nature can be used to enhance the meditation.

Mystical Aspects: Practitioners of Tibetan Chi Kung are more able to feel energy around the body, which helps them in their daily lives to make decisions based on intuition and empathy. In Tibetan Chi Kung, intuition is classified as receiving a thought about a situation or a person, and empathy is classified as having a somatic sensation in the body about a person or situation. For our purposes, "energy around the body" could be classified simply as the body's electro-magnetic field, but there seems to be something else there, not yet explained by science.

Tibetan Chi Kung is linked to the practice of "Lin Con Ji" or "Empty Force," which is a process whereby an Empty Force/Chi Kung master transmits his energy to his students, allowing them to raise their level of energy. Various exercises combined with the teacher's presence and intention to transmit energy cause this to happen. For instance, say your normal energy level is that of a AA battery, and you want to raise your energy level. The Empty Force master's energy level can be thought of like a D battery, but a D battery with an infinite supply of energy. So the larger battery size can be a metaphor for both how much energy you can handle, and how much you can give out and transmit to others.

Going to Chi Kung class improves mental and energetic acuity, and creates new neural pathways in the brain. The more that you meditate, you can move stagnation out of the body, and become more healthy. You can do this because you drive your threshold of concentration higher and higher. Your mind/ego may try to distract you, chi encounters blockages and pushes through there and pushes blockages out of there. Your internal channels begin to relax and vibrate to lower and more powerful frequencies.

The energy vibration of a Chi Kung and Lin Con Ji master is vibrating at a very high frequency. The emanation of Chi from the master is kind of like a tuning fork, and it creates reaction in the students. Like putting a tuning fork that is not vibrating next to one that is, the other tuning forks start to vibrate. This makes the students go through a purification, and they will either bliss out because their brain responds by making all of these endorphins, or they freak out, because their brain is not able to make endorphins, and they stress out from being pushed that much. You may find at first that you might feel stressed out by the energy, but over time, you may experience a more "blissed out" feeling with your meditation practice.
